writing things down when you wake up

Sometimes you can wake up with something on your mind; this could be in the morning or in the middle of the night. If you wake up in the night you could try writing your thoughts down, as this may help you get back to sleep. Or when you wake up in the morning it may help if you write your thoughts down, this may help to put them on one side for the day, that you could come back to later.
