writing things down before you sleep

Sometimes it may be difficult to sleep if you have something on your mind. It can be useful to write your thoughts down just before you go to bed. You could try keeping a diary, or write on a spare piece of paper. Sometimes it is helpful to just write whatever comes in to your mind it doesn't have to make any sense, its just get to get these words, thoughts or ideas out onto paper so that you don't lie awake thinking about them all. You could either throw your written thoughts away the next day, or keep them to come back to again.
