talking to friends

Often, people are happy to help; however, they may not know how. They also may be waiting for you to seek them out. You could choose someone, and ask her/him to do something that you would like to do, it doesn't have to be talking about your feelings, you might just want sit quietly or go to the cinema, going for a walk with a friend can make you feel better, drawing or reading books together can be comforting.

Some friends may feel awkward about talking to you. This could be because they don't want to upset you, not because they are ignoring you. Try not to be upset about this. Instead, try to think how you would feel in their position. Other friends may think that it is best to talk and might bring up the subject when you least want to and this could be upsetting if you really don't want to talk to anyone. Try and let them know when you don't want to talk and when you do. Your friends will understand and will be pleased that you are helping them to help you.
