My Lullaby

Maddi

Although you’re no longer in my life,
You’re always in my heart,
You’ve always been my little brother,
Right from the very start.

October the twenty first,
Almost eleven years ago,
A little boy came into my life,
Oh brother, I love you so.

And although you left far too soon,
For me to know you well,
I know that I’ve got to look forwards,
And on the past I just can’t dwell.

I’d love to give you a giant hug,
And whisper in your ear,
“You’re my little brother, O,
And I really need you here”.

I send this, on a floating cloud,
Certainly not a goodbye,
May my voice reach you wherever you are,
A big sister’s lullaby.
