my mummy
anon
the chord was much too long
that top note way too high
but sing she did
with her sparkling brown eyes
no laugh too loud
to spread and share
she filled the empty space
when only silence was there
that grin so broad
her infectious glow
lit the way for us
the path that is to be followed
i'll taste the summer fruits
while the peach flowers sway
mum will salsa with me
we'll dance the night away
they say my face is hers
perhaps now through me she sees
i'll show her all
all that we will grow to be
my glowing ember
the brightest star
go light the heavy darkness
that falls where you are
always the first to rise
i see her standing tall
chanting
'united we stand, divided we fall'
