best grandad in the world
jenny
Thinking of you granddad
But that is nothing new
I thought of you yesterday
And the day before that too
I’ll think of you tomorrow
And as the years come and go
I’ll think of you forever
Because I loved you so
God saw you getting weary
A cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered ‘come with me’
You’re not in agony, discomfort or pain
My heart is broken till we meet again
Your nature was loving and giving
Your heart was made of gold
And for us who truly loved you
Our memories will not grow old
I never ask for miracles but today just one would do
To see the front door open and watch you walk through
Your voyage had been rough
But you’ve reached your golden shore
Where your boat is now at anchor
And peace is yours once more
Granddad you were there for me through good and bad
You hugged and kissed me when I was sad
And I wish you were here to help me through this
That would be my only wish
I miss your smile, your cheery way
I miss the things you used to say
The happy times I recall
Its then I miss you most of all.
