I Remember

I remember the day you went away,
And how the skies were so grey,
I remember the day you left us alone,
And the long silent journey back home,
I remember that one last look,
One last Cry, One last stare,
And then left us all in despair,
I wish I could travel back in time,
And instead of your heart you would have mine,
I remember how you were suddenly gone,
Out of this world into another one,
I remember the feeling when we realised you were dead,
The way my body filled with dread,
I remember how I thought you had given us a smile,
But how I didn’t know you’d only be here a while,
I remember when we got home that night,
The house was silent,
The rain was falling,
We were crying,
And I thought I heard you calling.
