For our Nan,
Our ode to you Nan, you were the best, number one!
Full of beans, enjoying life – smiling and having fun
You married Pops and to us there’s no doubt
You were made for each other, no messing about
He demonstrated his love as only he could,
With an advert in the paper, he loved your meat pud!
To Marie and more, you were a special friend
Providing council, support, their issues’ you’d tend
Your family came first, whatever the price
And you holidayed in Vegas, rolling the dice
Daughters, all three, you were proud of them all
And grandchildren too, both big and small
You enjoyed the best in life, rewriting the rules
Strong-willed and decisive, little time for fools
Brave and courageous, that was you to a tee
Compassionate and forgiving to the family
In our memories you’ll live, with beauty and grace
In time remembering you will bring a smile to our face
When speaking of your life….. We are filled with honor and pride
Your not here anymore, yet we know you stand by our side
With your warm kind nature, who could not adore
A wonderful woman, by the name of Kath
So sorry Nan, but this ode must end
Good bye, God bless a final kiss we send
On a train to heaven and at peace you are
Shine bright up above, our guiding star.
