Remembering
From: Anonymous
I pour over pictures and letters,
stare at videos and memorize every word you say,
the inflections of your voice,
the way you dress and move and laugh,
the thousands of little things that defined you...
Trying to remember the feel of your arms around me,
The memories blur with stories from others,
soon you seem like a fable from long ago.
I feel you and see you in passing strangers,
but the longing in my heart does not go away.
Your voice, your laugh, blurry moments blend together...
somehow I can never fully grasp you again.
Life pushes me forward...father from you.
But my heart looks behind...
you are forever in me...
