Subject: Lost

Its 4months since my gran died, it would be her birthday today. I havnt got a grave as she wasnt burried and there is no plaque for her at the crem. I just feel so lost, i dont know what to do, i havnt been able to go to work because i was a mess last night. Some friends said i should buy a plant and put it in the garden for her. But its not the same, i wish i had somewhere to go to lay flowers and spend half an hour talking to her!

Hi Sharon, I'm so sorry to hear about the recent death of your gran. It is really hard if you don't have a grave or a plaque at the crematorium to visit to feel close to her and just have a chat. One thing that people sometimes do is to visit a place where they have special memories of that person, that could be a park or a cafe you went to together, anywhere where you might feel close to her. You could also write her a letter and attach it to a balloon or burn it and scatter the ashes somewhere special to you. It's doing whatever you would feel ok doing and that would help you to feel closer to her. Hope these suggestions have been helpful and take care.
