First of all I;d like to say I think you;re a great mate for finding this website and finding out how to help your friend. I think some days your friend might want cheering up and might want to forget about what happened, and other days she might to talk about how she feels and be sad.

It will be hard for you to see your friend upset but stick by her cos she will feel better in time, but remember this could be a long time- probably months! Often you might feel that you can;t be near your friend when they are upset but you don;t have to do anything superhuman! All you need to do is talk to her and let her know you are there, or if you don;t know what to say just sit next to them and say- I don;t know what to say but I;m here!

What I found helpful was if I missed a few days of school or I didn;t see my mate for a while then she would ring or email me and she said-I;m thinking of you or hope you are ok, or call me! I found this really helped.
Hope this is useful for you, feel free to reply back,

My mum died earlier this year and I wish my friends did something like this! Love and hugs, I hope everything is ok, crizzielizzie
