That Visit
Hatti
Watching my feet,
Stumble up the stairs,
Hearing my breath,
Quicken with my fears.
Watching the door,
Waiting for the call,
Their smiles are kind,
As they watch me fall.
Watching the bed,
As a face does stir,
So grey and bleak,
It should not be her.
Watching the eyes,
So full of fright,
With finding my hand,
They burn with delight.
Watching the smile,
Trying so hard to fake,
The panic breaks through,
Its too much to take.
